Fellow Members,

If you missed it, our extra meeting last Wednesday exemplified what advanced speakers do.  By the way, the word of the day was 'exemplify', thank you Christine.

Our first speaker Joshua, visiting for the second time, extolled the virtues of being focused while attempting to solve problems.

Todd spoke next and taught us about the origins of the Chinese zodiac.  Even if you already know the story, you haven't heard it from Todd who made an outstanding demonstration of how vocal variety works when telling a story.

Harry spoke third, and unveiled all the things that make him run.  You might want to ask him about it; in particular find out what his training program is.

Gouri offered us a Jeopardy-style Table Topics.  Some of the questions she asked are below.  What would you have said?
  • Are you a traveler or a tourist?
  • Do you take the road less traveled?
  • Is youth wasted on the young?
  • When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be (Laozi)

Our General Evaluator, Georgia Jones, not only led an energetic evaluation of the meeting, but also proficiently headed a round-table evaluation for Harry.  Next time you speak, don't hesitate to ask your TM of the Day for a round-table evaluation: you won't regret it.

Neerja, and Eloise delivered pointed evaluations to Joshua and Todd respectively, and Marie helped us weed out 'ahs' and 'ums' from our speeches.  The meeting flowed timely from one section to the next thanks to our timer Ivana.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday June 27 at 6pm.  Our current and incoming Area Governors will attend, and the new team of officers will be installed.  See you then.

Best,
